Troubleshooting & FAQ

Fix connection, debugger, image, batch export, Gem export, and multi-account issues when exporting Gemini conversations to PDF.

Common fixes first

If export suddenly stops working, try these in order:

  1. Refresh the current Gemini tab
  2. Reopen the extension popup
  3. Make sure you are on a real Gemini conversation or Gem conversation page
  4. Retry the export

Many errors come from the extension losing the current Gemini account-slot context until the page is refreshed.

”No credentials found for this account slot”

This is one of the most important current-version errors.

Why it happens

The extension could not resolve the active Gemini account credentials for the tab you are using.

Fix

  1. Refresh the Gemini tab once
  2. Wait for the page to finish loading
  3. Reopen the popup or options page
  4. Try the export again

”Not connected” or “Failed to connect to Gemini page”

Check these conditions

  • The tab is on gemini.google.com
  • The tab is a conversation page, a Gem conversation page, or the Gems view
  • The page finished loading
  • The extension is enabled

If you use multiple Gemini accounts

The options page now detects multiple account slots more clearly than the older docs described. If several /u/0/, /u/1/, or default-slot tabs are open, the extension uses the most recently active valid Gemini tab.

If export results look wrong:

  1. Close unrelated Gemini account tabs
  2. Keep only the account you want active
  3. Retry the export

Chrome shows a debugging notification

That prompt is expected. The PDF export flow uses Chrome’s debugger permission to drive printToPDF.

This does not mean your Gemini chat is being uploaded to a remote server. The file is generated locally in the browser.

PDF is blank, partial, or missing content

Usual causes

  • The conversation was not fully loaded
  • Images were still loading
  • The tab changed while the export was running
  • The specific Gemini conversation detail request failed mid-run

Fix

  1. Scroll through the conversation
  2. Wait for slow images or long answers to finish rendering
  3. Refresh the Gemini tab
  4. Retry the export
  5. Use Custom Preview if you only need part of the chat

Images are missing or duplicated

The current build has improved image handling, but the final result still depends on what Gemini exposes on the page.

Best practices

  • Wait until the image is visible in Gemini
  • Retry after refresh if the first export misses an image
  • For long chats with many images, export again after the page stabilizes

Important nuance

The extension is designed to preserve Gemini images inside the PDF export. If your goal is a clean PDF archive with embedded images, that is a supported workflow in the current build.

Batch export stops midway

Possible causes

  • Daily free quota was reached
  • One conversation detail request failed
  • The Gemini tab lost context
  • You cancelled the run

What to do

  1. Check the summary and failed list
  2. Refresh the Gemini tab
  3. Re-run only the missing items with Selective Export
  4. Leave Skip already exported on so duplicates are not downloaded again

Gems Export loads the Gem list but not the conversations

Fix

  1. Confirm the active Gemini account is the one that owns those Gems
  2. Refresh the Gemini tab
  3. Reopen the options page
  4. Open Gems Export again

Daily limit reached

Free users can export 5 conversations per day.

What counts toward the limit

  • Current-conversation export from the popup
  • Saving from Custom Preview
  • Each successful conversation inside a batch export run

What to do

  • Wait until the next daily reset
  • Or upgrade to remove the cap
