Before you connect
Keep a copy of your Claude chats — on your terms
Claude’s data export does not include the Personal Finance dashboard yet, and finance chats remain in normal chat history. Export the conversations you choose first.
Exports run in your browser. Remove account numbers before sharing an export.
Stop or disconnect
How to unlink
- Open Personal Finance and choose ⋯ → Manage linked accounts.
- Unlink one bank, or unlink all banks through Plaid.
- Confirm important figures in your bank app. Unlinking the last bank resets the dashboard.
- Remember: cancelling a paid plan does not unlink banks. You can also disconnect at my.plaid.com ↗.
Use with care
Two reminders
Shared links and published artifacts can expose account figures. Data stays in chat history until you delete the chat, and hosted service providers and Plaid process data under their own terms.
Claude can make mistakes — verify with your bank.

FAQ
Who can use Claude Personal Finance?
US users on personal Pro, Max or Ultra plans, in beta. Free, Team and Enterprise plans are excluded and rollout is gradual.
Can Claude move my money?
No. The connection is read-only; Claude cannot move, manage or invest money.
Does Claude see my bank password?
No. You sign in through Plaid, and the password is not shared with Claude.
Are my finance chats used to train Claude?
Chats inside the Personal Finance hub are excluded from training. Anything shared outside the hub follows your privacy settings.
What exactly can Claude read?
Bank names, account names and types, last four digits, balances, credit limits, and up to 24 months of transaction details for selected accounts.
How do I disconnect?
Open Personal Finance → ⋯ → Manage linked accounts → Unlink, or disconnect at my.plaid.com. Unlinking the last bank resets the dashboard.
What happens if I cancel my plan?
You lose access, but linked banks stay connected until you unlink them.
How is it different from ChatGPT Finances?
