How to fix common API connection errors with Notion
Common API Errors
Error: “Invalid API Token”
This means your Notion connection has expired or been revoked.
Solution:
- Disconnect from Notion in extension settings
- Reconnect and re-authorize
Error: “Database Not Found”
The selected database may have been deleted or you’ve lost access.
Solution:
- Check if the database still exists in Notion
- Verify you have edit permissions
- Select a different database in extension settings
- Try refreshing the database list
Error: “Rate Limit Exceeded”
You’ve made too many requests to Notion’s API.
Solution:
- Wait a few minutes before trying again
- Reduce sync frequency
- Contact support if issue persists
Error: “Can’t connect to Grok page”
The extension cannot communicate with the Grok page.
Solution:
- Open a Grok page at https://grok.com/
- Refresh all opened Grok pages
- Reopen the extension popup or options page
Error: “Grok is open, but extension can’t connect”
The content script is not loaded on the Grok page.
Solution:
- Refresh your Grok tab
- Wait a few seconds for the extension to load
- Try the operation again
