Selective Export

Selective Export allows you to choose specific Q&A pairs within a conversation to export, perfect for extracting relevant parts from long conversations.

Why Use Selective Export?

Long PerplexityAI conversations often contain multiple topics or questions. Instead of exporting the entire conversation, you can:

• Extract only the relevant Q&A pairs
• Create focused notes on specific topics
• Reduce clutter in your knowledge base
• Build targeted research collections

How It Works

Step 1: Open a Conversation

Navigate to any PerplexityAI conversation page.

Step 2: Select Q&A Pairs

Each Q&A pair in the conversation has a checkbox next to it:

1. Review the conversation
2. Check the boxes next to Q&A pairs you want to export
3. Multiple selections are supported

Step 3: Use the Floating Action Bar

When you select one or more Q&A pairs, a floating action bar appears at the bottom right:

• Selected Count: Shows how many Q&A pairs are selected
• Copy to Clipboard: Copy selected content as Markdown text
• Download Selected: Download selected content as a Markdown file

Export Options

1. Select desired Q&A pairs
2. Click “Copy to Clipboard” in the floating action bar
3. Paste the Markdown content anywhere you need

1. Select desired Q&A pairs
2. Click “Download Selected” in the floating action bar
3. File downloads automatically to your Downloads folder
