Troubleshooting

Use this guide when AIExportHub cannot detect a source tab, export buttons are disabled, Notion is not ready, or a bulk export fails.

The popup says Refresh Required

Refresh the source AI chat tab, wait a few seconds, then reopen the AIExportHub popup.

This usually happens when:

• The tab was open before the extension was installed.
• The AI platform changed its page state after loading.
• Chrome has not attached the content script yet.

The popup says No Match

AIExportHub only works on supported source pages:

• ChatGPT: chatgpt.com, chat.openai.com
• Claude: claude.ai
• Gemini: gemini.google.com
• Perplexity: perplexity.ai, www.perplexity.ai

Open a supported conversation page and try again.

Notion is disabled

Notion export is enabled only when all of these are true:

• The source tab is connected.
• Notion is authorized.
• A Notion database is selected.
• The selected platform supports Notion export.

Fixes:

1. Open Export Settings.
2. Select Notion.
3. Click Connect Notion or Reconnect Notion.
4. Click Refresh Databases.
5. Select a database.

No conversations are loaded for bulk export

Try these steps:

1. Open the source platform in Chrome.
2. Sign in to the source platform.
3. Open a conversation list or conversation page.
4. Refresh the source tab.
5. Return to the Bulk Export Workspace and click refresh.

For ChatGPT Projects, select a project before starting export. For Perplexity Spaces, select at least one Space.

Upgrade required for bulk export

Single export and custom preview are free. Bulk export includes a per-platform free quota. After the free quota is exhausted, upgrade to Pro or Lifetime and sign in from the extension account view.

Open AIExportHub Pricing to upgrade.

Chrome asks where to save each file

Bulk export works best when Chrome can save files without asking for every file.

In Chrome:

1. Open Chrome Settings.
2. Go to Downloads.
3. Turn off Ask where to save each file before downloading.
4. Retry the export.

Downloads are saved to an unexpected folder

AIExportHub uses relative Chrome download folders. Check:

• Markdown export directory.
• PDF export directory.
• ChatGPT Library download directory.
• Chrome’s default download location.

Absolute system paths are not supported in extension download settings.

Authenticated images or files fail to download

Some ChatGPT, Claude, or Perplexity files require the original source tab to download authenticated assets.

Keep the source platform tab open and signed in while exporting conversations that contain images, attachments, generated files, or research assets.

A bulk export is stuck or slow

Large exports can take time. AIExportHub processes conversations and assets in a controlled queue.

Try:

• Keep the source tab open.
• Keep the Bulk Export Workspace open.
• Export a smaller scope first.
• Use Latest before All for testing.
• Cancel the job if it is clearly blocked, then retry failed items.

Some items failed

After a bulk run, check the job summary:

• Failed items can often be retried.
• Warnings may indicate missing images or unavailable source assets.
• Skipped items usually mean duplicate protection or skip-downloaded behavior worked as configured.

If failures repeat, refresh the source platform tab, verify the conversation still exists, and retry a smaller batch.
